Brilliant performances and activities are going on in the Family Field for all the family over the weekend. From “have a go” sports, getting up close with birds of prey, a circus arena, a petting farm, to two stages full of fun and music and there’s so much more at the Godiva Festival this year.

The new “Serendipity Stage” brings many “join in the fun” acts, local dance groups, the Bhangra Tots, Fun Science and comic performers. This stage also hosts mass karaoke singing across Friday and Saturday evenings.

Councillor Abdul Salam Khan, Deputy Leader of Coventry City Council and Cabinet Member for Events, said, “The Godiva Festival is, and always will be, about a great time out for all the family. As well as the fantastic music on offer, there is so much going on in the Family Field across Saturday and Sunday for all to find something of interest.

“There is a sports zone to try out new sports and a circus arena on Sunday as well as all our usual, much-loved items such as the kids’ funfair and Greenspace and Lives and Times exhibitors.

“I’m sure whatever your interest, you will find something for all members of the family at this year’s Godiva Festival.”

The Family Field, which is open from 12 noon to 6 pm on Saturday 4 September and Sunday 5 September, will also have some giant, real-life versions of much-loved video game favourites for you to try and a BBC CWR stage showcasing local talent.

Community groups and organisations will again demonstrate traditional skills such as fence making, basket weaving and thatching over Saturday and Sunday, along with many local groups, including the scouts, regional theatre and charities.

Advanced tickets are available now and will save people money compared to ‘on the day’ prices.

Day tickets are available from only £6 per person and £15 for a family ticket, so buy your tickets now. Go to www.godivafestival.com for full event details and ticket prices.
