Solihull’s leisure centres saw more than 6,000 people upon their return. Solihull Council welcomed people back into their centres around April 12th after their three months of closure due to the UK’s lockdown for Covid-19.

It’s shown that gyms have received a 50% increase on those attending, pulling their numbers from 4,056 towards 6,451 visits instead.

Many leisure centres have been reopening in coordination of the Government’s roadmap to full reopening of services. EveryoneActive, has released their own roadmap of reopening to help people understand more ways they can get active in the future of 2021.

From EveryoneActive’s website.

Gyms may have re-opened in April, but there is definite excitement ahead for others anticipating the 17th of May, where they are expected to re-open more facilities like: Group fitness, ice skating and a lot more.

Even swimming pools have gained further popularity, raising their numbers from 1,808 sessions towards the 2,000s and more.

Some may be hesitant to look forward towards the re-opening, but EveryoneActive have made sure to alert people that they will follow the latest Covid-19 measures put in by the Government during this time. They will also require people scan the NHS QR code posters and ask politely that people book online in advance.

You can find out more regarding travel, Covid-19 restrictions and more on their website.
