Coventry Council is inviting applications for its project grants programme that supports the arts and cultural activity in Coventry. The fund has a total value of £75,000, and grants ranging from £5,000 to £12,000 will be awarded.

The scheme sets out to offer more Coventry residents the opportunity to participate in the city’s cultural life. Projects must engage the public with arts and culture activities and enable all community members to access and participate in culture. This can be through a variety of means, including online and digital activity.

The grant scheme will prioritise applicants for projects that will reach those already under-represented in Coventry’s cultural life.

Cllr David Welsh, Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities, said: “This is a crucial scheme to promote cultural equality, and we want the grants to be accessed by harder to reach groups and neighbourhoods.

The intention is to provide additional rounds of funding further down the line so that more people can be a part of cultural activities in the city.”

Those eligible will be constituted not-for-profit organisations in Coventry with significant experience in delivering arts and culture activity to the public.
