Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perri have today announced they are taking a break from Little Mix in an emotional message posted on social media.

They announced they will be taking a break after their ‘Confetti’ tour comes to an end in May next year. They put fans at ease adding ‘We are not splitting up – Little Mix are here to stay . We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more.’

It comes a year after the departure of Jesy Nelson from the band back in December 2020. Jesy has since continued a solo career in music, releasing smash hit single ‘Boyz’ with music superstar Nicki Minaj.

Little Mix made history by becoming the first group to win hit tv show The X Factor back in 2011. They beat the likes of Marcus Collins and Amelia Lily with their winning version of Damien Rice’s ‘Cannonball’.

Little Mix have since become one of the world’s biggest girl groups, selling over 60 million records worldwide. They have achieved 5 UK Number 1’s with ‘Cannonball’ in 2011, ‘Wings’ in 2012, ‘Black Magic’ in 2015, ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ in 2016 and most recently ‘Sweet Melody’ in 2021.

Leigh-Anne hits the big screen on 3rd December, starring alongside Aml Ameen and AJA Naomi King in the new festive rom-com ‘Boxing Day’. Leigh-Anne plays the role of international pop star, Georgia.
