The bar at Coventry and North Warwickshire Sports Club has been re-named after Ian Bell MBE, former English cricketer.

The sports club’s bar has been renovated and now reflects a more family-friendly environment. Ian Bell is not only a former English cricketer but he was born in Coventry and played county cricket for Warwickshire County Cricket Club.

The sports club is located on Binley Road, Coventry. It offers various sports, clubs and social activities for all ages, including bridge, cricket, netball, tennis, squash and health and fitness facilities that showcase a gym, sauna and steam room.

Ryan Quinn, Club Manager, said: “We hope that sprucing up the bar will now attract new people and welcome new members and families from the broader communities. Visitors can watch cricket matches on the outdoor decking, enjoying an alfresco experience at the club.

“It’s great to have someone that was born and bred in Coventry come back to support their grassroots club. We are truly honoured to have Ian Bell’s support.”

The bar at the club has been re-named in honour of him playing at the club for years prior to him becoming an international star.

The Ian Bell Sports Bar will be open:

Mon – Thurs: 5 – 10pm

Friday: 4 – 11pm

Saturday: 12 – 11pm

Sunday: 12 – 9pm
