HRC Recycling Centre Closure. Upgrades Announced.

In a press release from Birmingham City Council, released today, Birmingham residents are being told that Perry Barr Household Recycling Centre (HRC) will be undertaking major improvements leading to its temporary closure on the 31st of July 2021.

Some improvements included for their re-opening of Spring 2023 are:

  1. Removal of steps to containers on the site, making it easier for members of the public to use.
  2. Visitor entrances, removing the need for residents merging with the site’s traffic.
  3. An increased capacity overall.
  4. Wider range of recycling services.

The Birmingham City Council have stated that people looking to use Perry Barr but unable to, are encouraged to use alternatives such as the following:

  • Tameside Drive, Castle Bromwich, B35 7AG.
  • Lifford Lane, Kings Norton, B30 3JJ.
  • Norris Way, Sutton Coldfield, B75 7BB.
  • James Road, Tyseley, B11 2BA.

There is a reminder in place as well, that residents must book in advance, to ensure their entrance to the property without rejection.
